how much 1 IELTS band can effect visa chances ???

Well I gave ielts academic in April 2014. And got overall 7.5
L 7.5
R 8.5
S 7.5
W 5.5
I couldn't finish my writing part and got 5.5
Now I am wondering if low band in one part of ielts will effect visa chances ( VO can object on my language abilities )

What does your school say about the IELTS passing score should be? All your scores are great except the Writing test and Your overall score is good. I think you'll be fine.

dude, believe me when i say this. having 5.5 doesnt affect visa chances.

i also got 5.5 in writing. guess what? im in canada now.

Overall score is needed to have atleast a good chance in getting visa, not each band score.

Also, band scores AND overall score is needed to apply for a program in college/university.

5.5 is low being said that people have got visa for 5.5. So if ur profile is good ur finances r strong then it could work.....it is all about balance.... how ur profile is balanced.....low IELTS good academics ur good to go. So the point is if u can and if u have time improve ur IELTS and add it to ur visa application its not going to hurt ur application but it will definitely improve ur chance.

I do have an medical report stating minor shoulder dislocation dated 1 day before the ielts exam . ( actually that's the reason I was unable to finish my writing part ) .
About academic profile .
10th - 88% ( CBSE)
12th - 72 % ( medical CBSE )
MBBS - 67% ( July 2014 )

About colleges .. I applied for two colleges . one is NLC in health care administration ( post degree diploma ) & another one I am going to apply tomorrow for march intake . i.e. Conestoga college in bridge to practical nursing for international health professionals ( graduate certificate )

also I am gonna apply under SPP program so I am not sure balance gonna matter ( at least under spp). lol

I hope both are SPP colleges. Why do not you try for university? I have heard university visa success rate is much better than SPP colleges.

yeah . both fall under SPP category .
About university . only selected ivy league universities in Canada offer masters in health administration . ( plus they all require GRE/GMAT & competitive ) .

Many student in Selkirk Collage got visa with 6 bands ielts.I do not think ielts effect result of visa. i think 12th class and bachelor degree marks effect result of visa. So, if you are good in study, you get visa.
