The rule is that you should be admitted into the country for 1 year....unless they have changed that rule recently. Anyway, that is just my opinion, I am not an expert.

I'm from Colombia, my visa expired 2 weeks ago and I'm in the process to extend the new student visa. I sent the documents to CIC on 29 April and got AOR on 10 May. No problems so far.

As I said, if you read the guide, it says that in order to apply in an embassy overseas, you must have been living in that country for at least 2 years.

hi guys

i am living in australia from last 3 years, i have done master of accounting from victoria uni, aus. at the moment i am on working visa but its very hard to get the residency nowdays because of the tight immigration polcies of australia. i have applied for AEO in feb. to HRDSC till date did not get any reply.i just want to have canada residency to secure my future in case if i will not end up with PR here in aus on other hand to be honest i dont wanna leave this country.
