How many years GAP acceptable under University category?

Hello,

I have a gap of around 17 months after my last job. I was not working during that period. I have mentioned it in my SOP that it was because I was applying to different universities for PhD and at the same time writing competitive exams. I already have the letter of acceptance from my university.
Filing the application under university category this June. Will this be an issue for the visa officers?

I know no one can say it for sure, but some light on this issue would be a big help!

Thanks Legro. So according to the post, if I mention in my SOP regarding my gap, everything should be fine. Nice.

Yes. Explain to them what you did within the period
