Hi All,

My question is to all the Express Entry applicant. How many of us actually have a job offer in Canada??

Is there anyone like me who is going to play a blind bet by landing there and looking for a job??

The applicants who are outside Canada will be doing that. I'm one of them and I'm not looking forward to being jobless but it's a part of the transition that we have to accept.

I believe most of the applicants outside Canada do not have job offer (like me). I wouldn't call it playing blind bet, its just about self-confidence.

Moreover finding job from outside Canada is exponentially difficult as compared to finding job when you are already in Canada (and have a PR and employer doesn't have to worry about your visa).

I have got ITA on July 17, 2015. I am in the process of uploading documents. I already have a well paying job in India. I was very much sceptical of leaving the job and searching a new job in a foreign land.

I think there is no other way to get back to the last job and this particular thought keeps haunting me That's why I am trying my level best to secure a job in Canada

If I get in, I will also be one of those. (Got my ITA and am now collection documents.)

I've been trying to get a job in Canada for the last year or so... applied many many times, but rarely got any response, most likely because I do not possess a workers permit yet. I have a well paid job here that I will have to quit if I get into Canada, and I assume it will be difficult to find something similar. I'm happy if I can just find anything that's enough to pay my rent, I guess....

It should not be very difficult to get a job in Canada if you are skilled enough and have good work experience and also possess PR. At the least, you should be able to find part time work for survival purpose (paying rent and stuff) until you get a professional job.

I was living in Toronto back in 2011-12 and I returned back to India as I couldn't get a job. It was because of various factors like, not having a PR, or I probably didn't do the job search correctly, or/and my work experience was not enough.

My present CRS score is 399 and I am keeping my fingers crossed about getting the PR, but you are worried about getting a job in Canada when you land. It sure is a gamble but I think it's more of a choice, which sure would be worth it. But, again it depends on what exactly one wants in their lives!

Good luck everyone!

A lot of us are in the same situation but finding a job from outside Canada is almost impossible, especially if you don't have very unique skills.

You just have to take a chance. It's probably best to land together then have one parent go back with the children while the other stays in Canada to find a job. Landing and staying with the whole family is always said to be much more difficult.

That would interest me, too.
I read somewhere (perhaps on this forum, even?) that one should not take low wage survival jobs and instead network all the time. Frankly, I think it will be extremely difficult for me to network so much... I hardly know anybody!

My CRS is 402. I hope I will be lucky enough to get an ITA by this year end. I have been trying best to find a job, applying everywhere; but no luck. Any tips experts?

why would you go through the long and painful process of a PR application if you dont have a job or know if you will ever get one, in Canada?

surely the point of PR is that you've been here, worked, integrated and like it enough to settle?

or

you have a particular skill which is in shortage in Canada and therefore have excellent chances of getting employment.

I appreciate people want to better their lives, but I have worked in enough countries around the world to know that I wouldn't want to have PR in most of them.

Its hard enough to find a job in Canada (especially in Prairies) with current economic downturn. Let alone find an employer that will help you go through the hell of immigration processes.

I have a job offer that is LMIA-exempted, and applies LMIA anyway for the 600 points. My boss received >150 applications of my job and decided not to waste time on ESDC to apply LMIA. Now I'm down the route of snail-paper SINP.
