I am currently in BC with an open work permit (work and travel) and have a job now that would sponsor me.
My supervisor is a Dutch employee who has also been sponsored by the company. Now it's my turn and they said it might be a glitch having another employee applying for it. Because my supervisor is on a lmia work permit they worry cic will not allow another one for me.
What are you guys thought.
Do I have to worry

An LMIA is really all about proving that no Canadian could be hired for the role and they therefore have to hire you (this is not about proving you are the best candidate for the role - it's about proving they couldn't hire a Canadian with the required skill set / experience). So that's what your employer has to do.

Sure - if it's a small company and has several LMIAs, it's possible the application will be examined more closely to ensure the LMIA is warranted.

Make sure your employer advertises the job according to the LMIA requirements before submitting the application.
