How many days will be given for Single Entry(Vistor, Business, Tourism visa )

Hi,

Normally the visa officer gives a 6 months window for you to use your single entry visa. At the POE the officers normally allow a 6 months visit.

6 months is validity of single entry..... Is there any slab like that if you opt for single entry visa officer will give 7/15/30 days even when i request for 4 days visit

Hi,

Normally the officers at a Port of Entry give 6 months valid stay but there are times when they give less. There was a US citizen member who posted:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/american-issued-visitor-record-by-cbsa-t30380.0.html

Sometimes a visitor "touches a wrong button" that raises a "red flag" and so the officers put a cap on the visit.

can i request my visa rite from 16-May-2010 to 20-May-2010 for my travel even though my invitation letter has 17-May-2010 to 19-May-2010

Or

Whatever is in invitation i should put in "How long would you stay in Canada..."

Hi,

I don't think a day or two would matter much, but to be on the safe side write the inclusive dates indicated in your invitation letter.

In invitation letter they said that you will be entering Canada on 17-Month1-2010 and depart 19-Month2-2010.

I asked whether it is inclusive or exclusive of flight travel...but got from the employer saying that it is standard format for visa requesting....

Since employer said that we will give your flight ticket & accomodation only visa get approved. But my doubt if i start from INDIA on 17-Month1-2010 i will reach Canada on 17-Month1-2010. When i depart Canada on 19-Month2-2010, i will reach on 20-Month2-2010 in India. But my Canada visa expires on 19-May-2010 as soon as exist. So when travelling from Canada (19-Month2-2010...Visa expires)--->>Frankfut( 20-Month2-2010...do i need valid visa while in transit)----(20-Month2-2010...India).

2) In Business/ Visitor visa they will mention extact date of travelling & ending date. Or as you said like 6 months...

Hi,

yeah, you spent your entire allowable visit time traveling :) The officers when they grant you the visa wouldn't exactly say from 17-may-2010 to 19-may-2010. It is not that stringent. If and when the visa officer grants the visa, what you requested on your application would be in the system but you can come to Canada as soon as you get it or even as late as the last valid date.

So from this discussion i can conclude that

1. Whatever date in invitation letter should be same as in applicaiton form
2. So during 6 months validity i can enter once in Canada ( with 180 days stay ) even 4days visit mentioned in application form if i have extended my flight ticket.

Job_seeker....Please correct it if i am wrong
