I want to explore the beauty of Canada before my class, and I came from tropical country so I really need to adjust myself when it comes to weather change and also I want to familiarize the way going to the school. Temporarily, I'll be staying with my friend's place ( I have a letter to prove that to VO) until I find a permanent place nearby my school. Looking for a place to stay in and familiarizing the culture of Canadians will take time so I decided to come there early as 3 months.

I didn't see any issues regarding early comers in Canada here in these forum. Many people here said that coming in Canada as early as 3 o 2 months have the possibility that you will denied by the VO in the POE but it's not legit. you have a higher chance of being deny if you bring prohibited items such as drugs, etc. As long as you have a valid visa then you can come to Canada anytime you want.

hi,
I just received my letter of acceptance from a university. Can you give me any advice on my visa application? How long would it take for me to have an approved visa? I am planning to launch it by next week. Thanks

If you come early CBSA officers might ask you questions and ask you to provide them proof of how you're going to make ends meet.
It's highly recommended not to come more than 3 weeks earlier.
There have been cases where officers denied entry to students coming a month before classes starting.

Also remember, getting a visa doesn't guarantee you entry to any country.
Your entry can be denied.

Unfortunately some students don't know that they can start working part-time ONLY after classes start, so what if you're asked by the VO "If you're going to start working part time" and if you answer yes, you'll be in trouble.

Remember CBSA agents are trained to ask questions upon entry :)
Good Luck !

Every individual is different and might take too long to adjust in a foreign country. I came here in Canada three months earlier and so far CBSA didn't ask me about early entry. He just told me that as long as your TRV is valid, you can enter Canada.

Also, I started my first job three months before my school started. But, I don't recommend you will do the same thing :D because they might change the rules already.

Thanks very much for your response, I have seen your posts and you travelled almost 3 months before commence of of your classes.
When you arrived in Canada, did CBSA ask you about your early arrival?

Well the rules are clear now even if not in your time in that cannot start any work before classes start as doing so would be considered illegal work and cause issues later on.
