This site tells you http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/pub/bsf5082-eng.html#s2

You can try what the above poster said but be aware that it is illegal and that if you are caught lying to CBSA, not only will they take the cigarettes but they will record your name in the computer on their bad list. That means that any time that you try to enter Canada after that, you will be subject to stricter checks. If you get a strict border officer, they can take it further if they think you were really trying to subvert the law and actually fine you

many peoples said me that you can carry 2 cartoons i.e 20 packets of cigarates .. but as i have seen on canadian website .. it is listed that you can carry 200 cigrates which means only 1 cartoon i.e 10 packets .. so thats why i m getting a little much confused .. as i have taught by many friends that cigarate in canada is way more expensive ..

You could use the opportunity to quit smoking?

No need to be confused. The official Canadian website is correct, these other people are wrong. 200 is the max and if you go over that, you risk trouble.

Yes, cigarettes are more expensive in Canada, as incentive to make people quit. In one year in Canada, pack-a-day smokers spend the equivalent of 1 year of university tuition for their kid, or half a years rent, or a 2 week holiday in a 5 star resort. Quit for 10 years and you have the down payment to buy a house. As zardoz said, maybe take this a reason to quit :)

I brought with me 3 cruises (600 packs), declared all of them and paid $41. It is worth it

600 packs or 600 pieces??
Was the $41 a fine or a duty? They must have given you a receipt for that, haven't they?

Are students allow to carry cigarette from India to Canada ( Toronto. )? It doesn't make any kind of problem or any kind of inquiry?
