Hello All,

I wish to know how long it would on an average take after submission of the documents to get the Visa approved in the new scheme. I have just completed the initial formalities for the NOC 1122. I heard that there are only 20000 considerations per year and so wants to know if any one of you have a thought on this.

I applied in Dec 2008, file transferred from Buffalo to Detroit in Nov 2009. Documents asked in Nov 2009. An interview was scheduled for May 2010, received medical forms last week. Although I am applying from Canada, my case should not take that long to process.

The reaosns are I worked at many places. The officer has to spend time figuring out the minium requirement for a skilled worker. I submitted documents seperately which delayed processing.

Generally speaking one should get a visa within 9 to 14 months basically applying from Canada and USA. You can receive this response ONLY when you submit

1) all required documents
2) your original police certificate (s)
3) proof that shows at least one year of continous employment
4) IELTS score (now it's mandatory)
5) proof of relationship of your relatives in Canada (if aplicable)

So make sure you at least meet the above. Never wait for them to ask you for additional documents. This will simply delay the processing.
