How long will take after interview

Dear all,

during the interview, visa officer said that he will inform us within a week but after 2 weeks no news. any idea , how long will it take normally to hear from visa officer. we are in problem as we asked employment for short leave and travelled to other country for interview and now we have no information either to stay or return to work.
