Hi there! My husband applied for sponsorhip (to Alberta) and he got a letter that he is eligible as a sponsor. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive PR for me. I'm from Ukraine and I 6 month pregnant I have done medical 4 months ago. Can I speeed up my process and make it faster? We want our baby born in Canada. Please, tell me if is possible ...

Hi,you being pregnant will not speed up your process sorry! :(-I however hope you get your PR soon so you can have your baby here :)

You probably have about 8 months left before PR, sometimes less, sometimes more. There is no way to speed up the process.

Aren't you already in Canada? The applications going to Alberta are for people in Canada only.

Did you do x-rays as part of your medical exam? If not, your application can't be finished until after you have baby.

The approximate time for Ukraine is anywhere up to 10 months after sponsor approval. So there is practically no chance of it being finished before your baby arrives. There is no way at all that your application can be sped up, due to any reason, so your only hope to have baby in Canada is to get a travel visa (TRV) to come here.

I'm not in Canada we plan to live in Alberta.I have done x-ray and I had a refuse in visitor visa recently.

What do you mean by that?we plan to live in Alberta that is why I have to go there

hi, its just case to case basis. all depend who review your application. I got mine in less than 6 months. there is no option of speeding process, so wish you good luck and If pregnant you are exempted to some meds for the time

In that case there is practically no chance you will be approved and have COPR/visa in hand, in the few months time before your baby is born. There is nothing you can do about this so you should prepare to have your baby in Ukraine.

If your sponsor is a Canadian citizen and can pass citizenship to child, then after your baby is born all you would need to get is passport/citizenship info for baby.

However if sponsor is PR or can't pass citizenship to child, then you will need to add the baby to your PR application as a new dependent, after the birth.

If you're outside Canada, the application goes to Mississauga, Ontario.

Vergeville, Alberta processes applications for people inside Canada.

If you're in the Ukraine, your husband should've mailed the application to Mississauga, Ontario. They will send it to your home country. It doesn't matter where you plan to live in Canada.

No one can tell you for sure how long it will take to get your PR. You may want to start researching what you need to do if the baby has to be born in the Ukraine. Is your husband a citizen or PR?

how long ago did your husband get the sponsorship approval letter?

oo okay
it says average time is 10 months for Ukraine.
but it could come a lot faster. but regardless, I really don't think you will be in Canada before your baby Is born unfortunately :(

I think the OP simply means that the application was mailed FROM Alberta? If sponsor has been approved they must have sent it to the right place...

Probably, but that's not what she said. I was asking for a few good reasons - such as healthcare purposes.

Healthcare won't really matter until she gets PR, no? I believe in Alberta you can be eligible for healthcare after the sponsor gets their acceptance, but only thru inland..
