Hi,

Can anyone tell me how long it takes the London Office (I'm based in Ireland) to acknowledge receipt of a Simplified Skilled Worker Application? Do they send yo some reference number when they receive it or do I just wait? I can't seem to find any info on this on the Canadian Immigration Website.

Thank you.

Paulsgirl.

Hi,

As a guide, myself and my husband applied to the London Office on 20th May 2008 and we have not yet received our AOR [acknowledgement of receipt]. We were advised that AOR's are usually sent within 12 weeks of submitting your application however, the recent changes to the immigration process seem to be causing a delay [beyond 12 weeks] with receiving AOR's.

Hi,

I have the same issue here as well, i applied from Dubai on the 20th of May 2008. But no AOR till now. im tired of checking my mail every two days....)

I have emailed the canadian high commission in London and they asked me to wait as they have huge load of applications. they advised to check with the Bank to check if the Demand Draft was checked or not. but as i expected, the bank people couldnt help me on this and said they cant know if it is cashed or not. i even called HSBC canada and they gave me similar answer....but i gave up now.

im just waiting and checking the damn mail once every month....

Thankx

you know i have the same problem but worst. i sent my app in January 2008 to the London office and i haven't received anything yet. i sent them an e-mail but they haven't responded either.and of course like your situation the bank cant help me with the status of the check.
so now im not sure if i should send it again and lose my first check or should i wait more.

and btw do u guys know if there is a way to make the check form a bank that will be able to return the money if the check was lost or after a certain time coz i don't what to make the same mistake again.
