Do you think it will add to my processing if my FBI background check is perfectly clean?
It's possible that they would look into it a bit more, I'm assuming that just because the FBI record is clean it doesn't mean they can't see it happened...that said I'm sure you'll still see reasonably speedy processing time when all is said and done.

I have been upfront about it. On imm5669 where it asks if I have been arrest I checked yes and described what happened. I have 0 convictions

Right - I'm not disputing that - I'm saying it's not unreasonable to think they may look into it a little more in depth, that's all.

Yep, I fully expect them too. I saw another person on here who had a legal opinion letter done by a Canadian attorney. I copied them and did the same thing. It's quite detailed. Contains Canadian and American law and proves that I do not have a conviction under Canadian law and that I am admissible to Canada. 500$ but definitely worth it for piece of mind IMO

Ya fair enough, I can see why you did that. Definitely a good call.

I have spoke to two people on the forum. Didn't get much detail from on of them but he did get approved. The other said he got approved without any issues whatsoever.

I have travel to Canada at least 30 times without a single issue as well, that must mean something lol

Honestly you really have nothing to be concerned about. It's just a waiting game. We're also waiting so I get it, it sucks. But if you got it in 6 ish months, that would be amazing and great news. And speedy!

Yep! If it happens in 6 months I am more than happy! Do you think the dui will have my app refused if it was dismissed?

I don't have any experience in that really but from what I've seen on forums etc, no - might be a question for more senior members, but on the other hand, it sounds like you've done everything you could have about it, so really why even think about it either way? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do I think processing time will increase if your FBI is clean? Absolutely not. However, it depends on the circumstances of your DUI. But if your FBI is squeaky clean, then I don't think you have to worry about it. I know it's been always said that Ottawa apps average a certain amount of months, but that's no guarantee. You have to look at this process with 12 months of processing time to help you not get frustrated.

I understand!

I'm not overly concerned about processing times. It takes whatever amount of time it takes when it's all said and done. I was a little worried about my dismissed dui getting me denied pr
