Hello

Can somebody who has an idea, or who has been given a TRV elaborate on these please ? :)

After receiving a TRV (visitor), You are expected to travel to Canada before the deadline of the TRV. and after reaching the border, that is when you would be admitted for six months or otherwise.

My question is: from the day you were issued the TRV, How long is the time limit that you would be expected to travel to Canada ?

thank you

On or before the expiry of the TRV.

you are expected to travel before the expiry of your TRV visa....like for instance if you were given a visa from 09/25/2012 to 03/24/2013.... you should enter canada before 03/24/2013.

You are most likely to be given a six month stay expiry of which is stamped on your passport from the date you enter the country. This happens at the immigration desk

Hope this helps

before the expire of the TRV (before you enter Canada). The time frame you are expected at the border, because the visa does not start counting from the day it was issued, it would start to count after entering Canada.

for example: If I received my passport from the VO on 1-jan-2012, how long are you expected to be in Canada before you would be issued the normal six month at the border ? in other words, the time frame of which you are expected to enter Canada from the date you collected your passport (or from the date the TRV is issued by the visa office).

Thank you RabiHiba, I hope you got my question right.

As long as you enter on or before the expiration of your TRV. Say you're given a validity of 1 Jan 2012 to 31 Dec 2012 and you decided to arrive on 31 Dec 2012, the days/weeks/months of allowed visit will start then. No one will expect you at the border; you may or may not use the visa issued you.
