How long someone on closed work permit is allowed to stay after quitting job? I read that a person can legally stay in Canada till work permit expires after losing job. Is that correct? Can someone confirm on this? Also, does this(jobloss) effect ongoing PR application in CEC category?

Yes - you can stay as long as the work permit is valid. No impact to your PR application provided you did not claim 50 points for having a job offer.

I've claimed 50 points on job offer. But the cutoff during that ITA round was really low which I could have qualified without points for job offer. Does that make my situation any better? Thanks.
