How long is the FBI Background Check good for?

I just received my background check after 5 weeks, and I was wondering how long it was good for? I thought it was going to take much longer to get, and I think I applied too early.

It says 3 months by the time you submit it.

You should submit the background check within 3 months of when it is dated.

Once the CIC has it, it becomes good for a year, but they must receive it within those 3 months.

When did you send in your FBI background check application? I sent in my application on 2 May and so far, I still have not received it. They actually charged my credit card on 17 May. Please share your timeline please. Thanks!

I sent mine in late May, and received it back early June. It took about 4/5 weeks. I was shocked at how fast it took as I tought it was going to take much longer. I was a bit worried about getting it so soon, but I'm sure I'll have everything sorted by September.

Note: I didn't have any record, and they didn't end up charging me because of it. Apparently, it's why it took such a small amount of time.

It's interesting to know that they did not charge you at all. I thought they will charge you no matter you have any records or not. I called the customer service and the lady said it will take around 8 weeks.
