How long in "Received by Visa Office" status?

Hi all,
I was wondering how long can you remain in "Received by Visa Office" status after you submit full application to the local visa office? What is exactly done dring this time? My application has been with the visa office for 3 months now, no change of status yet.

Thanks for the replies. The visa office is confidential! I applied to Sydney in Feb 2009 and received approval in March. Submitted full application to the visa office in April. Heard nothing since then.

I respect your confidentiality... My answer is also confidential... errr... no hard feelings buddy... no one can answer you... the processing time is generally Visa office specific...

Why not? You could for instance say: "in my case it took 2 months" and never say what your visa office is!

First time I ever heard this "confidentiality" concern !!! Your fears are totally unfounded....sharing teh visa office will hel;p you get more specific answers !!!

Dear friends
I have read this thread.

I think some information like immigration file number, other numbers (if any), date of birth, marriage date etc. may be confidential. If we want help of others we must disclose at least required information for better suggestions. We even tell our home country, local visa office name, the code under which we applied, job descriptions, time of apply, e-cas status etc in this forum. If the information is confidential, we still have cic web site for almost all official information to check.

I mean that we must not disclose each and every information for suggestions from this forum, but some necessary information should be given.
