You can instantly resign, serve notice period and leave on a good note.. I don't think any employer will do and I doubt if they can do anything after getting PR.. It's not in their hands..

Are you sure?? How safe is this? :-\
Hi. If you think legal point of view, employer can never stop from going if you don't have any obligation like job-contract for fixed years or you have not served full notice period which caused business related harm to company and its interest or any dues at your end (company assets allocated to you but not returned, company sponsered loan or company sponsored education or any other condition as per policy which requires you to complete fixed years of employment before leaving.. They can't stop you so relax.

As rightly said, they may not give experience letter and that is very immature of them but they will not be able to stop you from moving to canada

Yes, thank you, I don't expect reference, just that they can't harm my PR and that I am safe
That they can't.. And additionally, try to take your supervisor in confidence, make him understand why moving to canada is important for you and show how thankful you are for giving this employment opportunity and you learnt a lot from him. Make him feel important. And assure him that you'll not leave in a hurry and will do all handover process. And if you can, provide your replacement as well through reference or contacts. Best gift to a company..

Thank you for tips. Again, I am not moving to canada, I am already in canada. This employer gave LMO and indefinite job offer and expects that I work very long time. Because of that I was scared. Thank you again

Once you're a permanent resident you can safely leave your job even if you claimed points for having a valid job offer.

As many have said, you can leave once you have your PR.

However, consider the time, effort and money that your employer has put in to get you your PR. If you leave, they are highly unlikely to ever sponsor anyone in the future and the pool of willing employers shrinks again. While you are under no legal obligation to stay, morally you are screwing your employer over a little.

He got his PR through CEC, so the employer didn't have to sponsor anyone or do much at all, except for signing some documents.

He said above that they supplied his LMO.
