Hi, I'm a permanent resident and I applied to sponsor my wife who lives in Jamaica from starting of the 2017 year and she recently just did her medical and submitted her Schedule A Back Ground Declaration and her police records requested from CIC.
Right now we're currently playing the waiting game, checking both our emails daily to see what CIC has to say.
Could anyone please tell me how long the process is after a person(s) completes their medical, how long before CIC gets back to us?

I spoke to few relatives and they said since its just my wife and no other dependents we're looking at two-three months before we hear anything in some cases might be less or even more depending on certain factors of the sponsorship CIC has to evaluate. I don't know man lol.

Please if anyone could be kind enough and help me out that'll be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Depends on the visa office. In your case Kingston, you can expect a 6-9 months wait since the moment you submitted your application until ppr.

Congrats JamaicanSnowflake you are on your way. Great news

Question does immigration Canada mail you or email you? Just curious

thank you for your reply. I just got home and check my emails and CIC emailed me this morning saying the application for permanent resident for my wife has been forwarded to the Kingston office. Whats next? Will there be an interview for my wife? Will there be any more information/documents we have to provide?

maybe no interview if you guys made your case strong normally they randomly pick people or red flags for relationship interview or they randomly picked people for proof relationship or ppr

Most people are getting interviews.

Really? Most people?

I think you'll find that most people are not getting interviews. Perhaps a lot of people from high risk countries, or a lot of people whose documents look dodgy are getting interviews. However, I would say that the vast majority of people do not get an interview.

How long was it between sending the PR application and getting the notice that you can have your medical exam?

I sent off the documents back in March 2017 and my wife did the medical back in May 2017. And last week June 2 they sent me an email saying everything in application for permanent resident for my wife has been forwarded to the Kingston office.

I don't think you need to have interview if u already provided better proofs. People I personally know 4 of them applied last year & none had any interview so no worries :)

How long before CIC reach out to us? Last time they emailed us was back on June 1st saying our application is being processed further at the kingston office. Is the Kingston office going to take 6 months to a year to even get back to us now?
