How long does it take to stamp visa & confirmation of permanent residence?

I received an email from CIC today requesting my passport for visa stamping. The thing is I'm actually leaving for the UK for business soon and will be there for 2 months before I return to Canada. How long does it usually take CIC to stamp and return the passport? Would they let me do the stamping in the UK instead? Anyone has experience with this??

They tell standard time 3 month but most of the case return passport within 30 days.
