How long does it take to get an estimate of processing time?

Hello, I have mailed my partners VISA application along with all the nessecary documents to the processing office in Nova Scotia. According to parcel tracking, it has arrived about half a week ago? How long does it take to get an estimate of processing time?

We are very curious ahaha.

in end of 2020 IRCC announced that family sponosrship will take 17 Months Instead of 12 so any time from 12 to 17 months or even longer

You won't receive a processing time that is specific to your application. It will take a few months for you to receive acknowledgement your application has been received.

In terms of processing times, as said above, the pre-COVID ballpark was 12 months. IRCC revised this to 17 due to COVID delays. Hopefully this number is on its way down back to 12 again.

I hope between the time that my application has been received and begins processing isn't that long. We're doing ours from Australia and the website says its estimated at 12 months.

12 months was precovid but you have just applied so you may gt lucky and not get stuck with major delays.

Where did you see this update? When I look on the IRCC website it says 12 months

I heard 17, but I couldn't find anything; actually, when I search, I find 12 months on their website lol
