How long does it take from the time you apply after ITA till you land in Canada?

Dear all,

I am an Egyptian pharmacist residing in the Kingdom of Bahrain. From about a year ago, I had applied for immigration via the new Express Entry and an ITA was sent out to me after I have been accepted from the pool of candidates with a CSR score of 475
After the ITA, I scanned and uploaded all of my documents with the application by the 9th of January.
By the 18th of January, they sent claiming that there was a special form which I had to fill out and sign. So I did that, signed and uploaded again on my profile.
Then on the 24th of Feb, I got a status update that they had started on my background check.

Now it's been five months. Approximately, how much more time will they take under this new system? I await all of your experience and feedback!

I have seen people saying that once background check is started one can assume quick arrival PPR(passport request). But this doesn't appear to be your case.

File GCMS notes to get an update on your case and I believe after passing of six months you can raise case specific query also from CIC portal to raise questions about your case.

Experts may provide better opinion.

Its hard to tell because some applications are finished in 1-2 months and others wait for 6+ months.

I think ordering GCMS notes would be your best bet. that way you can find out which parts have been finalizd and which ones havent. Takes about 4 weeks to get them so you might as well order them soon!

All the best!

CIC claims once you've received AOR status, the processing and background check will be completed in 6 months or less.

Yeah, that seems to hold true for about 80%+ of all applications.

Still, there are plenty of people who end up waiting 8 or 9 months or more:
