How long does it take for OINP to go from "Decision In Progress" to "Approved/Rejected" status?

Hello David,

As per my consultant, they are taking around 6 months from submission date to approve. I'm already 152 from submission and 68 from DIP. My permit is expiring in July/2025. I still have time... However, I'm getting very anxious and frustrated...

[/QUOTE. ]we don't know who to believe! the oinp declares 120 to 150 days 1 month ago I spoke to the oinp agent and he told me that he would have the answer in January at the latest. I was also unsatisfied and contacted the parliamentarian from my province who told me that he is used to these types of cases and that I still had plenty of time! The truth is that the oinp is messy and that we are depending on their good will!

Hi @carlat
Did you know by any chance, what reason of intent to refuse he got and what type of documents he/employer submitted to get the nomination approval?

hi everyone, I have 1 question regarding job offer document requirement of foreign worker stream:

on the website, they mention:

1. Job offer letter
You must include a copy of your job offer signed by you and your employer. The job offer letter must:

  • be less than six months old
  • be printed on business letterhead and identify the business address, telephone/fax numbers, email, and website addresses
  • identify the responsible officer/supervisor and include their signature
  • be stamped with the business’s corporate seal (if applicable)
  • include:
    • job title
    • National Occupational Classification (NOC) code
    • wage for the position being offered
    • duties and responsibilities
    • number of hours per week and the number of weeks of work per year
    • number of days/weeks of vacation
    • workplace location
    • employment start date
    • an indication that the offer being made is for a full-time position of an indeterminate duration (no end date)
    • confirmation that the terms and conditions of the job offer are effective as of the date of nomination if you are already working for your employer in the approved employment position, or if you are not, on the date that you obtain a work permit and begin working for your employer in the approved employment position
If you are currently working for your employer in the same position as your job offer, you can submit your original job offer with your application, even if it is older than six months. However, you will also need to include a recent letter from your employer confirming your ongoing employment, the conditions of the job offer and any changes to the position being offered to you. Your original job offer letter must:

  • be signed by both you and your employer; if your original job offer was not signed by you and your employer, you will both need to sign the recent letter from your employer confirming your ongoing employment
  • include all of the mandatory information listed above"

+ My HR told me they prefer to go with original offer letter + employment letter confirming ongoing employment. I told HR my concern is that my original offer letter doesn't include all requirement bullet point on the website. HR replied that they will update, and add information based on the website guideline to the employment letter. Is it safe to go with that option?

+ my 2nd question is: on the applicant check list of OINP foreign worker, there is a section called:

"Work history documents
1. Employment/work experience reference letters
If your job offer is not in an occupation that requires a mandatory licence or authorization in Ontario, you must scan and upload copies of your employment/work experience reference letters for any work experience you include in your application to meet the minimum of two years of required work experience. Reference letters must:

  • be printed on business letterhead
  • identify the business address, telephone/fax numbers, email, and website addresses
  • include the name(s) of the responsible officer/supervisor and their signature(s)
  • specify your employment period and the positions you held
  • outline your duties and responsibilities during the employment period for each position and the time spent in each position (if applicable)
  • include your total annual salary plus benefits, number of hours worked per week, number of weeks of work per year and any extended periods of leave
In addition to employment/work experience reference letters, you may also submit supporting documents that describe your duties and responsibilities for each position held including job descriptions, performance reviews and job advertisements."

Is this work history document the same with my employment letter as I mentioned above? This is the only job I work so far in Canada
