Mine took almost two months....

So a week is nothing. I recommend update and forget.... at least for a month.

I am also using a lawyer. My lawyer changed our address for us online and I also sent a letter to the visa office to be sure. It still took sometime. I wouldn't stress too much about it.
The main "problem" is that we will likely have the landing interview within the next few weeks. I am thinking about whether it could cause any issues if CIC would still have us registered at the old address at that time? (Even if we updated them weeks ago). I would hope that I can simply just update them at the landing and thats that?

My lawyer has missed emails in the past..however I spoke to him few days ago in regards to landing letter and he said that all they have was SA and DM so far.

We changed it for my wife and me on ecas about three weeks ago now. My lawyer as I said earlier also informed CIC, I think through some online form, don't think it's the same as I used. He first sent the form updating it just for me, and said that it would update for my wife (sponsor) automatic. I was not happy with that so made them do one for my wife as well. Without me knowing until after, they instead sort of did it for me instead again, but also mentioned that my wife had moved as well. Something "we updated for Mr XXXXX in the past and would like to inform you that the same goes for Mrs XXXX" and so on. They didn't add any UCI or application number. All they added was my name and date of birth and said that it was sufficient. Personally I don't think that's the way to do things but agreed that name date of birth should be enough for CIC to find me in the system and thus my wife, so I cut them some slack.

Does everyone agree with that this is sufficient and there is no further actions that we need to take? Still same in Ecas. To my knowledge no email confirming the change.
On the landing CIC should have our new address, if not I can just notify them of it then and that's fine?
Any takers on this at all?

Ponga? Canuck? Rob?

I applied for an address change in early July. Over a month went by with no observable change on ecas. I ordered GCMS notes in late July, that arrived in August, showing my new address. 3 months after the address change request, ecas finally changed it.

It might be worth ordering GCMS notes if you're concerned (and rightfully so). However, in the additional documents email/RPRF/intent letter, they will ask if your mailing address is correct. You will also have a chance to correct it once you receive that closer to DM.

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

I have the DM letter. I am waiting for a landing letter, should be here within next few weeks. I changed the address online like that DM letter says, about 3 weeks ago.

My husband landed on Monday and they still had my old address in the system even though it changed on ECAS...
It didn't matter at all we just changed it with the Immigration Officer at the airport.

All done!

My Ecas still says the same old address but when I got the landing letter it said the new address. So I guess it's very common that Ecas is slow. Pretty sad considering its 2015 and not a third world country.

Exactly. My husband's landing paper did say Caledon although I moved to Brampton and everything was updated!
But I suppose the government can get away with it.
