Hi,

Previously as i asked questions how to reinstate a withdrawn application (Spousal Sponsorship) but there was no much help and everyone said it can not be done. But incredibly somehow my wife is able to reinstate the application.

Now its been reinstated and they have invited me for an interview in July 2013. As my current visa expired I have applied for extension of visa already, so my passport is not with me and I am hopping it may arrive before the interview.

I would like to know, how long will it take to issue the visa after the interview?? And what if I do not have my passport with and its with UKBA. Can my wife come with me at my interview?? What kind of questions they will be asking.
In the email they have asked for these things:-

2 forms of photo ID
Proof of development of relationship
Proof of continued contact with your sponsor
Updated forms which are available on our website:
Schedule A/Background Declaration form for yourself
Additional Family Information form IMM5406 for yourself

What proof is development of relationship??

I just have one form of Photo ID which is my Driving License as my passport is with the Authorities. Will they allow me to go for interview with one photo ID and without passport??

Thanks

1. Yes, your wife can come with you. Some people advise for and some people advise against. They may interview your wife if you bring her.

2. You need to bring your passport in case they collect it for PPR - to issue the Visa. If you don't have it, it can delay your COPR.

3. How long it takes to get the visa depends on a) if you're approved; b) your visa office; and c) luck. Most people seem to get the COPR within one month of PPR. If you're able to give your passport for PPR at the interview, it will help the timeline.

You need to get ahold of your passport. You need it to get your PR.

They will probably ask you extensively about why you withdrew the previous application.

Have you had time to order your case notes? That will give you an insight into why you're being interviewed.

Or do you know your "red flags?" The IO will ask about those especially.

An interview means the IO isn't convinced from your application that your marriage is genuine - not entered for the purpose of immigration. You need to be able to convince him that your feelings are genuine and this is a real relationship, not a scam.

I totally agree with Amikety, interview is a sign that the application was not correctly prepared as a result there are many holes and inconsistancies. Luck of meat on the bone that IO wanted to hear from your forms and proofs of a genuine relationship. I always advise people on this forum that before you send your applications, please make sure you screen it yourself with tones of questions in order to find what is lucking inside. Provide as much info as you can then you will feel at peace when you send it. There is a 60% likelyhood that the visa officer has taken a decision based on the information you have submited at this level but he or she leaves a 40% chance for you to bring what is missing in the puzzle of your file. Sometimes we send files which drow images of cows grazing leafs on top of the tree instead of being under the tree standing and grazing. It is very important to check the puzzle how we fill the forms and suppliment proofs along.

The interview was done on 23 July and they said they are satisfied but they can not issue the visa today as they need to do some background checks. the following week they requested the Right of Permanent Residence Fee which was paid immediately. After that when my wife tried to inquire about the status on the application they will throw more / stupid questions. every time she called instead of giving information they tried to take the information and threaten that if they find out this that it will be like this and that so i told her to stop calling them and they also stop calling. since then i have not heard anything from them. My medical was also expired on July 31. But no new medical has been requested by CIC. they said they are aware that medical has been expired so they may extend it upto a month or so as i have been in UK so they may not require medical again. I have no idea what they are upto now and how long will it take from here. But all this has created too much frustration between me and my wife as living apart is creating problems and we tend to fight more. any idea how long can it take and what and when to expect.

Number one have you heard that 90% of relationships don't survive long-distance? The number may be somewhat biased, but its pretty accurate. People do tend to spill their frustrations on their closest ones and that is the case with you.

It sure sounds like you botched up the process a bit and now you are being extra "nosey" with CIC which is never good. You cant blame them for questioning your wife, clearly it looks *censored word*ing sketchy to them. Plus your wife is being annoying as hell in their understanding by inquiring all the time. Let the men do their jobs. Also you need to drop this self-entitlement attitude you got going. The immigration officers dont owe you anything. Its YOU who wants to get into Canada. So play nice by their rules and provide what they ask for. Not more and not less. I wish you best of luck

Hello,
Unfortunately, My husband and I are in the same situation. His PR visa was cancelled and they have said they will schedule an interview. Can you please advise if you have received your PR visa after your interview and how long did it take to receive it? Thanks a lot.
