How long does it take CPP-O to stamp PR visas?

By tomorrow it is going to be two months. total 8 weeks and no update from them.....

it looks like CIC sent out passport requests without checking every thing to keep us quite for a while....

I am going to apply for GCMS again and see if there is any useful info.

What does your e-cas status says ? 2 months waiting is so much trouble from them....they simply don't care...

it is Decision made. i guess Decision made is not like final stage..
in this stage they may call for an interview or either accept or reject the application.......

If I am correct they are doing background checks again.....

I am in the exact same boat. I don't believe they are making background checks. If you look at the spreadsheet, it looks like passports received prior to March 11 were 'misplaced'. I was notified after complaining to CIC and to my MP that my passport was received March 26 (5 weeks after they really received it) and only got the standard email on Monday from Pilot-ottawa, meaning that it took 7.5 weeks for someone to open my file and start working on it.

Do you have the information they are doing background checks again?
Why did they send PP and payment request then? They have had PP copies and all our documents a while before, so they have had already done background checks. If they reject the application why they asked us to pay and why they need to keep our PP for 2 months. I assume they would just send us a refusal letters instead of passport request. Honestly I feel stupid against smart CPP-O people, they do whatever they want with no explanation and require to '' keep correspondence to minimum''. May be you are correct. I also got a same reply again for my previous e-mail that the passports are received and can't determine the time to finalize the application.....

if your theory is correct we both should receive our passports back by this week end.....

it is random..initaly it took one week...and for the second e-mail they took about 3 weeks and
with out any my e-mail again they replied to my previous mail this Monday.........

somewhere in other forums I red about this..one guy contacted his MP and they told their MP about this.
that is possible...they may get suspicious about your passport entries and wanted to clarify before issuing...
in general we do not enter entries of short period travels...
I have few entries in my passport...so I just assuming that they are doing some background checks...

PR request and asking for fee does not conclude that you are done... there could be an interview if they think it is needed...
check the website for details..

Thank you for sharing the information. And I'm sorry for my mad comment. I do not understand why they make people who are working for Canada go through all this long waiting. My situation is different. I am a student in US and need to extend my visa now. Except of a payment for 1 year study I have to show my valid passport and I do not have it... Just afraid to loose my legal status here and get nothing from Canada..
