I agree with Yyc. Maybe you should contact your local MP too. Before I send my ticket to CIC, I also contacted my MP and maybe that's why they replied me in 2 days.

Hello,
MP stands for Member of Parliament, This means an individual who has been elected to the Canadian parliament or provincial legislature. To get in touch you would have to find out who is the MP for the area or province where you live. Normally they have a office that assists immigrants. I was referred to the MP's office via an Immigrant Service in the province.

Ecas now says complete:

Permanent Residence

We received your application for permanent residence on December 10, 2012.

We started processing your application on April 30, 2013.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

You entered Canada at the Emerson office on October 17, 2013 and became a Permanent Resident.

Over 10 months waiting for PR, finally the wait is over. PR card is expected 6-8 weeks from date of entry.

Thanks and your welcome. Not sure if your already in Canada or not. If you are already in Canada, calling your MP will let the process go a bit faster to get your passports back. It worked for me and a few others.

Hello

In order for getting help from MP you have to show his office that you really need their help, it is not that easy that any MP will get involve. Please make some excuse and get benefit from them.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I got my PPR 3 weeks ago and i m planning to send my passports to CIC this week knowing that I live in USA right now.

Did anyone sent his passport from US to CPP-Ottawa recently? How did you get it back? should I pay for a prepaid envelope from FedEx or not ?!! please let me know your thoughts. Thx

In their email they stated the following statement:
" If you have a mailing address in Canada: To allow you to track your passports through the mail, we strongly recommend that you purchase two (2) PREPAID Canada Post Xpresspost envelopes (National), letter-sized (318 x 241 mm), at any Canada Post retail outlet.
- Complete the mailing label on one envelope showing your mailing address in the “Deliver To” field.
- Keep a tracking number sticker from each envelope.
- Fold and enclose the self-addressed envelope in the other envelope along with your passport(s) and a copy of this request letter.
We will not use registered mail or postage coupons. If you do not submit a return prepaid Xpresspost envelope or if you provide an envelope from any other courier, we will return your passport by regular mail

Read their E mail closely, esp the last line, which I have highlighted in Red color.

CPPO does not handle any prepaid envelope from any country/courier. If you send they will trash the envelope and send by ordinary Canad snail mail.
Try to get "Xpresspost/USA prepaid envelope (which has tracking facility as well) sold by Canada post if you know someone in Canada.
Otherwise buy it on "Amazon.com". I believe shipping is free if you use an US address.
You can expect to get your passport back in 3-6 weeks.
Good luck.
