How long does CIC need to review the file?

Hi,

After being nominated, I sent my application to federal in mid-November 2016. But till now, 5 months have passed I still haven't heard anything back.

The status shows things are in review stage. Anyone know how long does it take for them to process the files? I am planning on a short trip but just worry about they may request me to send additional files or send passport after decision is made?

Hi Sara, I saw we got the AOR and sent out application pretty much the same period of time. But it seems that you got your landing earlier in March. Was it EE CEC application as well?
