How long does background verfication takes?

Hello guys, i have passed everything on the tracker but background verification still in progress in the tracker from 20,6,2023 almost a year so how long could it be?!!

I'm from iraq and eligibilty passed only background in progress amlost a year per tracker its in progress 20,June 2023

That is the reason. Background doesn’t pass until IRCC gets the immigration/security information from Iraq.

And the latest update was 16,April, we are reviewing additional document you provided,
They asked for passport pages scan are they asked during backrgound check?

There really is nothing you can do but wait. Hopefully response is soon. If you are doing a Masters program at a public DLI, you will have a better chance. A lot has changed in a year with funds, PAL etc.

Im doing advance diploma at public DLI does that still has a good chance?

So you have no post secondary because diploma just requires secondary diploma. Cannot tell you. As long as you justified costs with good salary and job in Iraq then you have a chance.

If you have a good salary now then why do you need to take an advanced diploma. Why not a post secondary program? I don’t know when the response will come. Assume you have LOA for September and have paid first year tuition.

Im bachelor holder and am doing advance diploma actually the gpa was low for masters, i have paid the first year tution and new LOA for september as you said but i dont know if i get response or should i deffer again

Th issue is that advanced diploma is not a post graduate program and you have a bachelors. Hopefully you are successful but if refused then apply for a post graduate program. You will be in a class with 17 year olds. Difficult to justify higher salary when you have a bachelors and taking a lower program than a degree.

What should i do if i didnt get decision until september? Can i cancel the application and re apply with new documents does it make the process faster?

Will not necessarily be faster. If not doing a Masters, you will need PAL now and have to meet updated requirements for POF.

If you don’t get a decision by September, school may refuse deferral because it has taken so long.
