Obviously there are huge waiting times etc for parent sponsorship but planing a head.
How long do you need to have been a perment resident before you can sponsor someone?
I can't find the answer any where just says you need to be a permanent resident. I'm sure there used to be a min amount of time.
Any help appreciated

And does your proof of income need to be all within canada. Or will they except income from another county from before you were issued PR?

The income needs to be from Canadian sources. Therefore I think you have to be a PR for three years before you can sponsor a parent, just because you will need three years of Canadian income.

I believe you have to no longer be on an undertaking yourself in order to sponsor, which I believe is 3 years.

Wrong.

As soon as a PR has the 3 years of Canadian income tax returns, they can apply to sponsor. One could apply for parents the day after becoming a PR, if their spouse is a co-signer and meets the income requirements.

I don't remember any restrictions on what your immigration status has to be while earning that income. Therefore you might have been a high earning TFW for the previous years and be eligible to apply on the day after becoming a PR, even with no co-signer.

Yes, income earned while on a work permit in Canada and not a PR, can also count towards qualifying. As long as the income was earned while you were a tax resident of Canada, and you're a PR when you submit parent's app, that is really all that matters.

Spousal undertaking ends in 3 years, so it still have to be 3 years or more, therefore my statement remains true.

It's not actually. You can sponsor your parents while spousal undertaking is still in effect. You just have to meet the income requirements.

No. As explained, as long as you can meet income requirements or have a co-signer that does, you can apply.
