How long did you wait to file after your wedding?

How long did you wait to file your application after your wedding date?

Why did you choose that time to file? (i.e. took so long to get application ready, etc)

in our case, got married in June 2011, applied in January 2012

reason: Landed as PR in January 2011, went back home in February 2011(not ready to settle permanently in Canada yet), then came back (for good) to Canada in January 2012 . Sent the application 5 days after I arrived. ;D

Got married May 2011, filed October 2011.

We were initially thinking of filing for a greencard for my spouse instead, and started gathering that paperwork. The wedding certificate and his birth certificate took forever, because Canada was having a postal strike. Once we decided to move me to Canada instead, we had to learn what the immigration process was like, wait 2 months for my FBI check, etc. Sent everything of the instant we had it all together.

Got married March 2012, sent the application today ;D August 24. Didn't send before only because we couldn't complete de package any sooner...

Married March 10, 2012. Application Fed Exed March 19th, 2012. Had prepared file prior to wedding, just waited on Marriage Certificate and wedding photos.

Married July 8, 2012, Filed July 31, 2011 - Got back to Canada to get everything in order and notarized true copy.

We got married August 6th, 2011 and applied in May 2012. We waited cause I wanted him to come back to Canada before I sent it (he had to leave November 2011)

We got married December 14th and sent off our application on August 9th, it literally took us this long to get our application ready haha No other reason, really.

Was waiting until I moved back to Canada and then took a few days to completely organize everything that we had been working on for the past few months.

We got married on July 17th 2012 and we submitted the letter on August 18th 2012.

We Married April 7th 2012, our application was received April 23rd, 2012.

married dec 2010, it was nikkah only (i do's), so did not file it until we had rukhsati (give away of bride) in nov 2011, and then i filed it in march 2012... basically cic does not recognize nikkah only cases (as our marriages can be a 2 step thing, so folks understand hence explaining)... i waited out for the 2nd step, as filing right after dec 2010 would definitely would have meant a rejection/objection in our case... so i completed the marriage, the file got completed and then sent it in...

We got married April 27th, 2012 then filed July 9th, 2012. That's pretty much how long it took to get everything together. If we had known how much work it would be, we would have started earlier, for sure.
