How long can you stay outside Canada while on Study Permit?

Hello everyone,

As per the title, how long can someone stay outside the country while on a study permit? I am a phd student and my work is entirely online (research). I am currently outside the country but still conducting my research normally and carrying on meetings with my supervisor.

I have read in some places that the maximum is 150 days. Do they pick on this?

Yes. How does it affect my post graduate work permit?

You have to be studying In Canada to qualify but there are some exceptions due to Covid. Not sure if the rules will apply if you study outside of Canada at this point.
