Hello Friends,

Me and dependents have received PR Visa with validity upto March 20th 2016.

We intend to travel before this time, but for some reasons, we can't stay beyond 7-8 days and have to return back
to India.

In such case, within how much time we would have to re-enter Canada next? I mean , how much time we have
maximum, within which we have to reenter Canada to ensure our PR status is maintained?

As far as PR card is concerned, we will arrange it to be sent at our friends place and do not intend to do any other
proceedings for now.

Thanks,

After completing your landing procedure...u can come back anytime. But please bear in mind u need to complete your xxx no of days in the next 5 years. If u can't then there can be problem in your pr status.
The 5 year period starts from the day u land there first time.

For the no of days required I am not sure right now ...I think it is 2 years to renew your visa and 4 years to apply for citizenship.

You could stay out of Canada for 3 years minus a day without risking your status.

That is the residency requirement for citizenship. OP is asking about maintaining PR status.

Wrong residency requirement. That's for citizenship.

Team,

How does it work?
Does the day 1 to be counted for Citizenship start from the Stamping of visa by VO or once you land in Canada?

Once you land in Canada. You need to be physically in Canada for the days to count towards citizenship.

Dear Friends,

I would be soon flying to Canada to fulfill my residency requirements. So my PR status would be maintained, but my wife and 12 year old kid will be out of status, since they will not be able to join me. Wife has decent job and we want to avoid both leaving their job and moving to Canada.

So, in this case, once my wife/kid are out of status, how easier is it for them to join me with PR?

Please suggest.
