I have got admission from Carleton University for Fall 2011 and have the visa as well. Can anyone guide me when should I reach Canada? I want to reach Canada well before the start of my session so that I could assimilate with the environment yet I don't know how officer at the airport would conceive my early arrival.

Please help!

hey, i'm going to Queen's :D and move in day is September 4th. However I want to take the emirates A380 8) and not PIA so, I'll probably be leaving isb on the 30 or 31st of august. That'll give me 2 to 3 days to troll the city. If you're going too early, like a month or two before, it shouldn't be a problem in Canada if you can prove that you've met your conditions(if your offer is conditional). However the FIA people at the Pakistani airport might question you. A person on this forum got to Canada and posted the following, I can't find the post:

My experience at Pakistan airport was not good although I have no problem but with me there were two other students one of then was going 2 month earlier than his scheduled classes and FIA people were question him the other one was going a little late and they were asking him for extension letter from university so he could join late....later they let other two people go as well but my guess is that FIA got paid by them.

On Canadian airport there was no issue I got my study permit issued...The other two people were also issued the study permit.

Cheers!

Haider did u get ur visa or u hav booked it in advance..

still waiting for the visa, done with medical. I really don't have a reason to expect a rejection, so I'm 99% sure and inshallah i'll get it. As far as the flights are concerned, I've got a couple of friends from different places going to Queen's too. And the a380 flight suits us all. So I'll probably book that if it's available and I get my visa in time.

Hey Haider,

I like your spirit and faith...that's good. I am planning on leaving the 30th as well. I don't think you need to go any earlier for Sept. classes. It's way too costly to start out earlier than that, anyway I guess some of us really can't wait that long. Cheers.
