I just checked my husband's application status today (We applied for family sponsorship from England) and it says "decision made" now, as opposed to
"in process". Just wondering for people who have gone through the same thing, how long did it take to get an email after this status change?

Give it a week or two, and you should be getting a PPR very soon.

yep it is, so they will ask you for your passport after that there will be instructions to send passport to http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/UnitedKingdom/
your going to have to pay the service fee. and Withing two to 4 weeks you'll recieve your passport back

And by "your" passport, you mean my British husband's passport? He is currently in England, and I'm in Canada.

The thing that worries me is that he has a flight here to Canada booked for 16 days from now, so I'm wondering if he might have to courier his passport back the UK once he gets here.

He'll be coming over as a tourist if need be, as I'm pregnant and due in December (I moved back before him to be home for the birth).

yes i mean to say your husbands passport. Well so due to the requirement once you get a email asking for your passport you only have 30 days to submit it too the vfs. So that does mean it may require him to travel back to the UK. But to due to the complexity of your situation, you may want to inquire with some legal advice, or even contact your local mp's office.

It seems like he would be able to travel here as planned then rush mail his passport to the visa office in London, so long as they would courier it BACK to a Canadian address. I guess the other option would be to have it sent back to his parents' house then they could mail it to us in Canada and he could do a border run.

Him missing his flight and the birth of our child due to this is really low on my options list.

We did have a lawyer help us with the paperwork, so I'll speak to him as well.

Thanks for the responses, by the way!

only applicants from non-visa exempt countries are required to submit their passports.

sounds like your husband is a british national, so he will not be required to submit his passport. his visa office will simply send him his confirmation of permanent residence (COPR) through mail. it'll have to be signed for, so make sure he's at home to recieve it. once he's got his COPR, he'll be ready to land.

Ok, that sounds more like the information I originally thought was the case! How relieving. Thanks ;)
