How is the PPR sent from NYC Consulate (not Buffalo)?

Hi,

My status changed to Medicals Received a few days ago, so I am anxiously waiting for the PPR. I have a few questions:

1. Is this request usually sent by email or snail mail? I understand each consulate has a different method, anybody have experience with NYC?

2. Instructions on NYC consulate say that passports can only be mailed. However I have seen posts on the forum from people who have done in-person stamping at Buffalo. Is this not an option for NYC?

It's been over 10 days since my status on ecas changed to "Medicals Received" yet I haven't heard from NYC.
