How good is university of NEW BURNSWICK

Hello every one!!!

It was great hearing from some of the forum members giving their valuable inputs to my previous enquiry.

I have one more quirey regarding selection of university for M.B.A in Canada.

I have read some where that university of NEW BURNSWICK gives MBA admission with out GMAT...my question is how at is it true????

And also how good a university is it???

And if you were to rate it on a scale of 10 how much would you give it???

Also just to inform you guys that I am not looking for a world class university I would be happy of it
can serve the purpose of my admission...

Please let me know your opinions and feedback...

Hey hi,

UNB is a very good university, I have secured my admission there for 2013 intake but did not go there this year due to certain situations,
Im pretty much sure ill be making to the next fall 2014..
And yes they give u a GMAT waiver if you have a good GPA.
All i heard was the univ is pretty decent and the campus is not so big like the ones in America !!
Certainly good for an Indian student of course. They have some good internships mate !!! A budget univ above all it is.
I would rate it 7 on a scale of 10.

I just wanted to know what are the cut-offs for G-MAT waiver, my profile is as below.

Bachelor of technology (mechanical) 2010-63%

12th standard 74.5%

10th standard 79%

more than 2 years of work experience in project execution and project management.

If not for UNB, do you have any idea about other universities which can waive GMAT for my profile.

Thompson rivers univ is there..
vancouver island univ ..
royal roads univ..
brock univ (ISP)

all these offer without GMAT..
but among everything UNB is simply good and the cutoff is 550 I think and u must ask the univ about ur waiver coz u have only 63%..not sure about that bro..

i have learned some mix views abt unb. gmat is waived for those who have 3.2/4 cgpa.

Yes ...correct...
and UNB as far as my knowledge is concerned its a good univ bro..small class size and its located in a small city called saint john ..
Ull have to move to other province after your graduation for good jobs.

Is it easy to find off campus part time as the latest reply states its a small city???

The course is very intense and so ull not have time for part time jobs...even though if u still want it it would be pretty competitive to g et one initially then later u can easily find it..

The program is pretty average ..and is popular among Indians and Pakistanis who have not give GMAT.
There are hardly any local people studying in this program , hence networking is poor.Also, NB has very little job opportunity and most graduates have to move to other provinces; NB has no international graduate PNP program as of now........

On the other hand its one of the cheapest 1yr MBA programs in Canada...and will get u 1 Yr PGWP !!!!!

The job factor I do agree that we have to move out of the province to get good ones.
But in terms of the program quality I dont see it bad ..coz I have lot of friends studying there and they tell me its really good.
