We've had a few people on this forum asked to demonstrate proof of financial support at the POE. So it does happen - it just didn't happen to you. We've also seen at least one case where someone was turned away at the border and forced to return home because the CBSA officer felt they were coming too early and were concerned they had plans to begin work. This person had to return home and then come back to Canada closer to the start of their studies.[/QUO
