How early can I arrive before uni starts?

Hi. So hopefully my visa should be issued in the next 2 weeks and I was wondering how early I can enter Canada after getting my visa. I'm planning on going about 2 weeks before my uni starts in Newfoundland and I'll be spending the first week and a half in Toronto with my cousin. So Im just wondering if there will be any problems at the airport when they see that Im staying in Toronto for a bit before flying to Newfoundland. I've been reading around the forums and there are a couple of horror stories of people arriving eary so I just want to make sure that if your stuff is in order you will not face any problems.

Its not a big issue. I came 2.5 months before my starting date, i came on june23 and my classes was beginning in sept. They didn't bothered to ask me anything and i came out of airport in just merely 35 mins

The guy at immigration counter didn't asked me anything. He just asked me where r u going to stay? Thats the only question to me.
