HOW EARLY CAN I APPLY FOR TRV.

My husband tourist visa expires in Dec 2020.

1) Do we have to apply for a new TRV after the current visa expires?

2) Can we apply ahead of time instead of waiting till its expiry?

3) If yes, then how early can we apply? Can it be done 6 months in advance?

4) Hope having a valid tourist visa will lead to rejecting our application? We do not
want any rejection of application.

1. If you plan to travel to Canada after it expires then yes. If you have no plans to travel, it’s not required to apply for a new TRV.
2. Yes.
3. There are no official rules but I guess it would depend on the processing time in your local visa office. IMO 6 months is too early. I would prefer 3 months.
4. It would improve your chances for a new approval but it’s no guarantee.
