How does unemployment affect my Working Holiday Visa application?

Hi,

I'm going to apply for Working Holiday Visa and I was recently laid-off. How would my being unemployed currently affect my application? Is it a cause for rejection?

I was planning to register in a course in order to put it as current activity, or should I instead go and try to get a job even as a volunteer in order to have a job in the application or it does not matter so much?

You are not required to be employed or in School to apply for an IEC when it opens.
