Hi All,

Spouse working in a highly skilled management job with open work permit (that was issued under my student permit) If not eligible for OWP under my PGWP three questions:

1: He is already employed under the owp can we ask the employer to file for LMO then apply to change to closed WP
2: How does the employer proof that no candian/PR qualified. My sense is that of course there is always a canadian/PR who qualifies but in the end he got the job...is it enough for employer to show they interviewed canadians/PR plus advertised the position as required under LMO?

please advise,
thanks wan

Results of the recruitment effort (Job Bank Ad, and who applied, was interviewed, why selected).

thanks for that info.

The HR rep who is completing it was a bit fussy because they did not specifically (or consciously) try to hire Canadians- they were just looking for the right candidate for the job. So from experience of others as long as that information is included and is genuine and canadians/PRs were interviewed and did not qualify is sufficient?

when applying LMO your employer have to submit copy of advertise he gave through newspaper, job bank or other website, and how many peoples are come to interview and why they are not selected, some time they ask un selected local candidates resume also, last month it happened to my co-worker in alberta. And the spouse of PGWP holder not eligible for open permit, so try to get LMO soon.
