Hi Guys,

I am participating here for the first time but have been following this platform for a while now. it has been really useful so far. so wanted to put forth a query.

Im 34, single , female. have just received the ITA on 30th, My CRS was 441 and NOC is 4163, being considered under the FSW program and right now filling the application as part of acceptance of invitation. i need input on whether the unemployed period affects the application and could result in refusal afterwards??? my last ten years are explained below

2009-2010: Study (MBA)
2011-2015: Work experience at a multinational, continuous, full time, more than 40 hours/week.
2016-To date: Unemployed. (i took a career break to help my single mother settle down and it took a while)

i really want to know if this could result in refusal? any remedy to this predicament?
TIA

I dont see any reason for refusal here. You need to have 3 or more years work experience in past 10 years to claim maximum work experience points which you already have. They dont care if you are currently employed or not.

Thank you for the reply. i just heard from couple of people who said since its the skilled worker program, being unemployed for three years might affect my application.

You have around 4 years experience and its all within last 10 years and full time. Dont over-stress yourself

I don't think there is any problem at all.. I have several gaps in my work history and haven't been working for the last 7 months now. There was no issue in the processing as I meet the required criteria to qualify as FSW.
Just make sure that
1. When you are filling the application, all time period for the last 10 years is explained clearly, honestly and accurately, both in personal history and work history.

2. Your experience letter for the 4 years should be complete in every respect as per the IRCC requirements. Job duties, weekly working hours, designation, location, last drawn CTC, etc. It should be on the Company Letterhead and signed and stamped by relevant authority. This is very important.

yes, that's what i want to focus on. because a lot of people stressed on making a fake experience letter to fill the gap for my last three years but i'm against misrepresentation of any sort. so i was told it might result in refusal later on if i have such a big gap in my employment.

Honestly, I don't see a reason why a gap in employment will be grounds for refusal, after all they have set the criteria and you are qualifying as per that. So the gap should not mean anything.
Additionally, misrepresentation according to me is a big risk - you lie on your application and if you are caught, it is a refusal right away. You may be banned from applying for the next five years!
If I were in your situation, I would just say things as they are, and hope for the best!

Hello guys,
I am here for the first time.
Actually, me and my spouse are applying for Express entry. She has experience of 3+ yrs and I have exp of 1.7 yrs. Clearly she will be the primary PR holder and me dependent.
The problem is that I am unemployed for last 5 months or more. Will it became a problem for us to apply as she is still working but I am unemployed. Actually I am sitting with my father so that I can learn about his business.
What can I do to show this unemployment
