Thanks everyone for the answers. Does anyone know how much the total cost could be (if I use driving lessons only and no one else to practice with other than driving instructors)?
More than 2000$?
The total cost will really depend on whether you're a new driver or not.
I came to Canada like yourself as an Int'l Student when I was 19 with somewhat 3 years' old license. Being a car enthusiast, I knew if I went for licensing at that time; it would kill me if I didn't drive. So, I didn't take the test till I was in 3rd year. But at times, I drove my friends' cars for really short distances within city.
After I passed G1 written test in Ontario, I took only 4 road lessons with a 'cool' instructor ($40 for each). For the last 3 lessons, he brought his personal truck (without any additional brake) F150 and I got to drive it on the highway (because he used to forget that I was only going for G2).
Right after passing G2, I bought my first car in Canada. We used to take lot of road trips to US as well. So, that's how I got ready for my G. Although I almost waited 5 years to take it (just before the expiry). I didn't take any lesson, found the usual route where test is taken from Google and practiced once/twice on same route. I passed all my tests on my first attempts.
On the contrary, my wife, being a completely new driver, had to take 13 -14 road lessons. She also practiced with me. So, it was much more expensive with her. She still has to take G and would perhaps need few more lessons.
