We have been waiting for like 6months now (since i applied for spouse sponsorship) and would like to know some ways to follow up my husband's PR application... Manila requested his passport in Aug4th and until now we haven't heard from them... I sent them 3 letters already but no response at all.... Can anyone tell me if asking for CAIPS notes will help? What does it do? How do I know what's going on with the application? Should I hire a lawyer? I actually have asked help from my MP already (before Christmas) but only to be told that I should just wait as Manila has a lot of back log especially with all the Ketsana victims. This is driving me crazy and I am starting to worry... I know there wouldn't be any question with our relationship because of the amount of the evidences i sent and paperworks are accurately & honestly done, but what could be the reason of the delay??? pleeeeeeeeeeeease help? :'( i am so confused of what to do... I am even thinking getting him a visitor visa or maybe me moving back to the philippines... which will be very sad but at least we can be together again... :(

Hi,

As you are a frustrated waiting applicant like many others in different regions, of course you may be looking some thing to hear from the CIC every day. Please note that in some cases, there may be delays due to various reasons depending on the case. However, you may send a request to CIC through ECAS "Case Specific Enquiry" and I hope you may get a reply of status.
If you apply for CAIPS, perhaps you may get a passport request before getting CAIPS. So just wait to hear for your enquiry. Good luck

Thank you Wilson! I just sent an inquiry and hope that they'll reply soon... Do you think I should still send CAIPS notes to be sure? or will they continue ignoring my requests? thanks!

They will always respond to CAIPS requests because they are required to by law.

CAIPS will give you more info about your application, that can make you make it easier to understand what is going on with your case.
CAIPS are done in Ottawa and have no effect on your case at all. that is a safe way to find out what is going on with your application.
