Guys plz help me out. im in Mississauga, Canada, ready to apply for my PR-Family Class. ive decided to do it as out canada versus in canada, as i already have a work permit lasting until 2017 but i want to be able to travel to jamaica while its being processed plus the time is shorter. How do i send in the application from Canada with it not being confused as applying in Canada.

just make sure you fill out the outland forms and send it to the correct address for OUTLAND applicatiions

I'm interested in this actually, is IMM 5285 the only difference between the two application packages? Because if you send by courier they go to the same address wheter its inland/outland

Just fill in the OUTLAND application package, and it will automatically be considered an outland app no matter where you happen to be residing: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

To be extra cautious you can also write OUTLAND in a cover letter or on the package (there have been a couple cases out there where CIC processed an outland app as an inland one by mistake, but this is very rare for them to do).

Hmm. I didn't write Outland on mine. How will I know if they accidentally process it as inland?

The document checklist are different, also there is an additional form that must be included if you're applying inland.

Yes that is correct, if they send their package it is the same address by courier ,but if by regular mail it is a different address for Inland and Outland.
