How did you actually look for an apartment?

I am currently in the middle of a very last minute apartments search.The real kicker is i am looking form another state.Craigslist has been key through my Minneapolis apartment hunt. Although I've had great luck with Craigslist in the past, it is still filled with false information and a lot of scamming.

I am preparing to land in Canada and I have been browsing Craigslist for months just to get the feel of the prices and the type of apartments. I find it more and more full of scams.
