Dear Raj

I am not an expert but as per my knowledge and guidance note u can not use funds from any one or any family member as proof of fund. So as u are short of some amount i think is that better to make a fixed deposit on the name of main applicant. There is very less possibility that VO will ask u to prove that where this money comes from. Make sure don't make any entries in the ur bank account. Just tell ur mother in law to withdraw from her bank and make fixed deposit.

i guess that will do for u

You are NOT allowed to borrow funds from anyone as POF. However, if you are certain this fund is available for your use then ask your mother in law to transfer this fund to your wife's account. Note though that your wife may be asked to explain the legitimacy of the "sudden" funds.

I wish you both all the best.

Dear all, I am going to initiate my application in a few days but I don't have the minimum funds available with me. What I am going to do is to show the following:

Property: In my father's name of course, but he has signed an affidavit about my share in my property and that he'd give me the amount as soon as I need it. In addition, I am also providing a property evaluation certificate

Car: In my name along with its evaluation certificate

Provident Funds Statement

Bank Statement

Together, these make up considerably more than the required minimum funds. Please analyze and give your opinion in this regard!

Hi Ammaar,
Remember visa office dont accept valuation of the car, Car/jewellery is not accepted as a proof of funds but you can certainly show tha funds you get by selling your car.

Thanks saki but what about Property in my father's name... he's signed an affidavit that he'd handover my share whenever I want + evaluation of property. Ain't it acceptable?

Hi,

Normally what i have heard is that London office does not accept property valuation from the Pakistani applicants. The only reason why they dont accept car and jewellery is that the value of these can decrease with the time period so they dont accept that but the property with an affidavit from father will be good enough i guess.

Cheers

Thanks Saki for your insight! Well, I plan to sell jewellery and deposit the amount in my account. While selling my car doesn't make sense at all to me. I mean I'll write its evaluated price on the break down of minimum funds. I plan to write in my coverletter that I would dispose these things off once I get visa!
Can VO reject my case on these grounds? Any example? Well, one of my relatives went to Canada on skilled immi visa, he didn't even show his assets explicitly. He just wrote that he had a house (of course it wasn't in his name), some jewellery, cash, etc. He didn't even submitted a documented proof of all these things, but he was not refused. One thing, however, was different: his case was dealt with in CHC, Islamabad. But our case is to be processed in London; don't know what difference it would make? Comment please!

Hi
Your cousin may have been just lucky. In our case, we were asked to show a notarized valuation of the property from a certified broker. Upon arrival at Vancouver airport, the CBSA personnel asked us to show the cash and checks we were bringing along but they didn't bother to count the cash. You may mortgage your father's property, place it in the bank and once you're issued visas or after landing, pay the mortgage..he..he..It was just a suggestion.

Dear ms_shelby, I am in the initial phase, i.e application launching phase. I would definitely carry the required sum of money when visa is stamped and I land in canada but this is the last phase.
I am going to initiate my application for the very first time in 4-5 days. Can I show the valuation of my father's property along with an affidavit in which my father agrees to give me my share according to the law in the property whenever needed by me at the final stage (visa stamping) of my application???? Can I show this now as you showed your property initially??
Would you tell me what did you show during the initial stage???
