Hi,

I have been asked to submit my passport to the London office for processing my PR. How do I send it from India to London? They have clearly stated that the India office will be unable to process it.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Hi,

Did u sent ur passport to lvo? i asked the courier companies, but they refused that we dont accept to send passports out of india. I guess u need to find out in vfs in ur city.

You can inform them about any change of address and they would allow you to submit your passport in in India. You would find this information in the PPR mail from VO.

Send a reply to LVO and let them know you are in India and if you can send your Passport to New Delhi CHC through VFS. Get their approval and send it to new delhi. Your passports cannot be sent out of India by courier.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I did inform LVO that I am in India but they categorically stated that the passports cannot be processed by the Delhi office. I still need to send them to London. I have decided to send them along with a friend to London and then have it couriered to the VFS VAC in London. Hopefully it would work out and I am including a self-addressed prepaid DHL envelope which they can use to courier it back to my friend in London who will then pass it along to me in India.

Thanks

Guys! I got the COPR stamped in the passports at London! :D I will detail the process so that it helps someone in my situation.

I sent the passports with a friend along with an authorization letter, in case he was checked. He was not and there were no issues. He couriered the package locally to the VFS office in London. I sent VFS an email including a cover letter and authorization letter to have it couriered back to another friend after processing it at the High Commission. The fees for VFS were paid locally too. VFS sent the passports to the High Commission on the same day and they processed it within 2-3 days and sent it back to VFS, who then couriered to my friend in London. The whole process went smoothly without any issues.

Good luck!
