hi,
I would really really need a help! my boyfriend and i just broke up, and i just had gave birth to our daughter, and now that i want to leave, he doesnt want to let me bring my child with me. how can i get a full custody of my child? all through out my pregnancy he never really liked the fact that we're gonna have a kid, and now all of a sudden he is using my child against me. how can i even apply for her passport if i would need my ex's consent which he doesnt want to give.
i really need a help!

There is not a lot of information you gave us.. Are you Canadian or not? Student? Work visa? PR? In or outside Canada? Common law relationship or not..

But even more important is what Steaky said, get a lawyer..

I *think* the OP is In Canada on a TWP.

June1990, if you can't afford a lawyer, there are free/low cost service for help/legal advice in your circumstances, but I'd need to where you are to send you some links.

June1990, what province are you living in?

As a general rule, in Canada both parents whether married or unmarried, together or separated, have rights AND responsibilities towards a child.

If you & the baby's father can not come to a mutual agreement, you will have to go to Family court in the relevant province. In fact, even if you can agree, I highly recommend getting your agreement ratified in court. How to proceed, & links to advice, will depend on province...

i was under tfw permit when i gave birth, it has been expired a couple of months though.and im single and not in common law with the father of my child. we live in alberta.
